Au Pair expenses: what you need to know

Leaving as an Au Pair is a rewarding experience, but one that involves certain costs to be anticipated. At Kates Agency, we can help you plan your adventure with peace of mind. Here are the main costs you'll have to pay to participate in this program.

1. The Kates Agency subscription: support tailored to your needs.

To benefit from our services, you must subscribe to one of our subscriptions:

• Simple support: 72,99$ per month

• Premium support: 89.99$ per month

This subscription is payable monthly throughout your experience.

Example: If you become an Au Pair in France for four months and decide to take the premium package, you pay 359,96$ for 4 months.

2. Round-trip plane tickets

The Au Pair is responsible for purchasing his/her own plane tickets to France and back to his/her country of origin.

Practical tip: We are available to help you find a flight to suit your needs. Plan your tickets in advance to obtain advantageous fares, and make sure you respect the start and end dates of your stay.

Don't forget to check the validity of your identity card and/or passport.

3. French lessons (optional but strongly recommended)

To fully immerse yourself in French culture, we recommend that you take a language course. You will be responsible for a portion of these costs.

4. Pocket money to start the experience (optional)

We recommend that you set aside a small financial reserve before leaving as an Au Pair. Having around 500 euros available in your account is a good base to cover personal expenses, such as leisure activities, or to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. This sum will enable you to start your experience with peace of mind, while remaining flexible enough to make the most of your stay. Don't worry, this is not a strict obligation, but a precaution to ensure a smooth transition.
